Snutter Butter Kittens

Tim and I have had no cats for at least two years. We have been very lucky on the farm over the years having wonderful cats and great hunters of mice, so it’s time for us to start again.
Today we have five 6wk old kittens one male and four females, we have put them in a cage on the porch for several days so they could get use to the farm and to us. Well it didn’t take long for them to love us and we love them.
Tim and I were ready to leave one morning to run some errands and for my doctor’s appointment. As we always do we count kittens to make sure everyone is accounted for before we leave, because now they are able to come and go from the cage any time they please. For the most part they have never ventured very far from the porch until today. They were under my truck climbing in and around it. We tried starting the truck, it worked but they all ran to Tim’s truck and climbed inside. This dance back and forth continues for about ten minutes. We came up with a plan for Tim to try and get them to run from his truck while I would block my truck and try to get them to go towards the porch. It sounded good it really did, however the kittens are fast and I am not. This went on for another ten to twenty minutes and if we didn’t leave soon I would miss my appointment. Tim finally crawled under my truck with water hose in hand and sprayed under the truck and finally all five ran for the cover of the porch. We had no time to waste getting to my appointment, Tim was wet with gravel all over his clothes and my clothes were wet from the spray of the water while shooing kittens to the porch.
We made it to my appointment, I sat in the chair as the nurse took my blood pressure, I could tell I was being observed I’m sure because I looked a fright and had a silly smile on my face. She commented my blood pressure was elevated more then it normally was and left the room.
All I could do was smile that silly smile and think, “Why did we want kittens again?” Someone please I beg of you to come over and wipe off my forehead because I am pretty sure the word Sucker is written on it, For real I know it is.
