The Wife of a Farmer!

The other day I could not find Thorn and Rosie, I could hear them but couldn't see them. Followed their barkings and found them on the other side of our fence in the neighbors field barking at his cows. The cows simply ignored them, but would occasionally look at them. Well I knew they could not stay there, so I got on my belly and crawled halfway under the fence and called them to me. They would not come, I tried my baby talk voice, my authoritive voice, nothing worked.
While I was laying there trying to figure out what to do I felt something getting on my back and legs, I slowly looked back to discover my cats where stepping on my back and legs and laying down!!! I just couldn't believe it, Really?! Where is the camara when you need one. Well I started to laugh, and Rosie and Thorn came back on our side of the fence to see what all the fun was about. I brushed cats off of me and got to my feet!! Lord I thought what would I have done if that was a snake on my back or if I would have had to fight cows off my babies......

Cooking and Stocking a Kitchen for Two!!

This has been the biggest challenge for me. Coming from a single mom of three children and grandchildren, I was feeding a rather large family. And at times stray children who happened to find their way to my table. So stocking a kitchen and cooking was a snap!! I always cooked meals and made cookies for lunches every sunday, so we could just heat the meals when we needed them I could always find something to make from my pantry no matter if I needed to buy groceries or not! Now no kids at home just Tim and I, well I have had to make alot of adjustments to my pantry and the cooking of my meals. We have sinced moved to a farm, and can't just run to the store when I need something. So now I have rethought and bought for my pantry and have learned how to cook for two!!! It was an adjustment but I made it through to the other side!!  Even if we have company I am ready! Now the only thing I make ahead of time is cookies for the week. Oh and occasionally freeze chilli!! LOL!

I get so frustrated when people try and tell you how you should be a grandparent! And these people aren't even grandparents yet themselves. We have 19 grandchildren and 10 children between Tim and I. And we always hear the same complaint from some of the kids. You don't make time for my kids, you don't go to this, you don't do that, you don't come and get them and bring them home. We don't have gas money to come visits you. We don't call you because we are waiting for you to call us. Oh it was your birthday, sorry I forgot, but what did you get us for our birthday, because I am pretty sure we are going to call you later and complain!
I don't like how you are being a grandparent so don't send a gift to my child, I don't need a holiday grandparent!
So there you have it, this only reflects some of our kids! From the others we hear, just called to see how you are doing. Your sick do you need anything. We really appreciate you! Thank you! Love you! Thank you Nana and Papaw we love the gift!
Nana and Papaw do you want to do something next week, Mom and Dad do you want to come have dinner. Mom and Dad we are coming for a visit open the gate!
So really, Who would you want to be around? I'm just saying!
