Mix 1qt. of milk, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 T. Crisco, in a saucepan and heat to boiling point but do not boil, stirring only until sugar is dissolved. Take off heat and let stand until mixture is lukewarm. Then add 3 pkgs. of Fleischmann's dry yeast. When the yeast bubbles up its time to add the salt and flour!
In a large bowl pour the yeast mixture, then slowly add 1 T. of salt and 6 cups of flour mixing well until you have a soft dough that can be handled with greased hands.
Turn out the dough onto a floured surface, and knead well. Place back into a greased bowl. And Cover with a dishcloth and let rise 2-3 hours.
When dough has doubled in size. Half the dough and roll out on a floured surface with rolling pin. Next brush with butter, then sprinkle cinnamon, brownsugar, and white sugar. Starting at one end roll dough up and cut into rolls and place in a greased pan, let rise 1 hour, then cook in a 325 degree oven until golden brown.
Icing: 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 2 T. butter. Mix well. I just pour this over the rolls in the pan I baked them in! Enjoy!
The rest of the dough, I pinch off a small amount and roll and place into a greased muffin pan. Let rise about 1-2 hours, then bake at 325 degrees until golden brown and brush tops with butter. Enjoy!
Add alittle bit of Emily and a pinch of Sophia for a little more sweetness! And that's whats cooking on the farm!
